My research and publication interests pertain to multicultural librarianship, the intersection of online learning and the accommodation of diverse learning styles and strategies for best serving our diverse populations. This session explores the way our library moved beyond a handful of interested library staff engaging in diversity efforts to a much broader desire for library dialog, training, and action. Prompted by a campus Microaggressions report, I will describe the way we moved beyond awareness workshops to action, knowing that it is critical to get people "acting" and involved in improving the climate for staff and patrons, rather than just understanding that it is important to improve it. I will provide examples, as well as an overview of the training series developed in Blackboard intended for all library staff.
